There will be a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The following has been placed on the ballot by Mehlville Fire Protection District.

$59,352 with CCP-C certification;

CANDIDATE FILING FOR DIRECTOR

FIRE DISTRICT ELECTION

 

There will be a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.  One Director for Mehlville Fire Protection District will be elected for a six year term.

 

An individual wishing to be a candidate for election should file a Declaration of Candidacy between December 13, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. and January 17, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates may file at Headquarters, 11020 Mueller Road, St. Louis, Missouri between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Filing will be open until 5:00 p.m. on January 17.

 

Candidates will be listed on the ballot in the order in which they file.  Candidates filing on December 13 will form a line in the outer lobby of Headquarters and follow instructions as indicated.  Filing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Candidates may only use that entrance when filing.   The offices will be closed on December 26 and January 2.  The offices will close at Noon on December 23 and 30.

 

A candidate shall be a resident and voter of the Fire District for at least one year prior to the election and be over the age of twenty-four years.  A candidate cannot be delinquent in payment of taxes, no exceptions.  A candidate must make a statement under oath that they possess the required qualifications.  The filing fee is $10.00 and identification will be required.  The District Headquarters is the sole filing place for this candidacy.

BRING YOUR CAMERA!  Take photos of your children with Santa and with Firefighters and Fire/Medics who will be available to teach children about fire safety.  See the fire truck, the ambulance and various educational displays.

Tech Electronics and Mehlville Fire Protection District to Conduct Smoke Detector Blitz

  

 

Tech Electronics & Mehlville Firefighters Unite to Raise Awareness during Fire Prevention Week

  

 

FREE Smoke Alarm Installation
Saturday, October 8 • 8am to 8pm

In conjunction with the 2016 Fire Prevention Week’s “Don’t wait– Check the Date! Replace your Smoke Alarms Every 10 years.” Tech Electronics is uniting with Mehlville Fire Protection District to replace and install smoke detectors on Saturday, October 8.

“Most people don’t know when to replace their smoke detectors, and with three out of five fire deaths resulting from non-working or no smoke alarms, we wanted to lend our expertise to try to reduce those deaths within our community,” said Chris Wilhelm, Executive Director of Construction for Tech Electronics.

Mehlville Firefighters and Tech Electronics, in partnership with Gentex, will install smoke alarms free of charge to residents. The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. on October 8. Public Hearing

2015 Editions of the International Building Code© and
International Fire Code©


Mehlville Fire Protection District will hold a Public Hearing on the adoption of the 2015 editions of the International Building Code© and International Fire Code©.   The Public Hearing will be held on October 5, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Mehlville Headquarters, 11020 Mueller Road, St. Louis, Missouri  63123.  Final consideration and adoption is scheduled to occur at the District’s October 19, 2016 Board Meeting. The effective date of the 2015 codes is tentatively scheduled for January 17, 2017.

STARS

 

Special needs Tracking & Awareness Response System

 

 

     Mehlville Fire Protection District is implementing a new program, STARS, to better prepare us to take care of special needs children. 

     For each child participating in STARS, we create a form detailing his or her medical history, medications, allergies, baseline vital signs, baseline neurological status and common medical emergencies.  Children who especially benefit are those with significant developmental delay, seizure disorders, cardiac history, cerebral shunts, tracheostomies and any atypical diseases or syndromes.

PROPOSITION S

Shall the Board of Directors of the Mehlville Fire Protection District be authorized to abolish the Alarm levy, reducing the authorized tax levy five cents (5 cents), while increasing the General Revenue authorized tax levy by five cents (5 cents) per one hundred dollars assessed valuation as a cost saving measure to simplify and streamline accounting procedures of the District?  If this proposition is approved by a majority of the voters, the overall authorized tax levy will remain the same and there will be no reduction in service.
