Mehlville Fire Protection District Is Hiring a 24-Hour Shift Firefighter Paramedic!

Protect life and property by performing firefighting, fire prevention, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services duties. The Firefighter Paramedic will generally work as a firefighter (up to 75%) and the remaining time in ambulance emergency medical services.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Must be a high school graduate or possess a state-issued GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must possess a current Driver’s License
  • Must possess a current Missouri EMT-P Missouri License
  • Preference will be given to applicants with EMS experience
  • Preferred, but not required, St. Louis County Fire Academy training
  • Preferred, but not required, certifications include ACLS, PALS, PHTLS or ITLS, and AMLS
  • Ability to work four or five 24-hour shifts per pay period (2,920 hours per year)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands and perform essential functions of the position, including regular attendance


  • $65,697 starting wage
