Station House #3 was the last of three engine houses constructed in 1957 and put into service with one pumper crew at that time. Over the years there has been two additions made to this engine house. The last one occurred in 1990 in order to provide adequate facilities for a ambulance crew for a growing increase for paramedics in this region of the district. At this time there is a pumper crew 1730 with three personnel and ALS ambulance with two Paramedics assigned to this station house. The fire and ambulance units stationed here usually respond to the needs of the citizens of the City of Sunset Hills located of the Mehlville Fire Protection District. Generally speaking , this engine house is laid out similar to that of #2 house only reversed as it relates to bunk rooms of which there are three and the kitchen, dinning and recreation rooms on the opposite side of the building. There is also a reserve pumper stationed at #3. This is the third busiest house in the Mehlville Fire Protection District and serves an area from I-44 / City of Crestwood on North , Grants Farm / Baptist Church Road on the East to Kennerly Road on the South and I 270 on the West. This station is approximately 5700 square feet.
