Station House #3 was the last of three engine houses
constructed in 1957 and put into service with one pumper crew at that time.
Over the years there has been two additions made to this engine house. The
last one occurred in 1990 in order to provide adequate facilities for a
ambulance crew for a growing increase for paramedics in this region of the
district. At this time there is a pumper crew 1730 with three personnel and ALS ambulance with two Paramedics assigned to this station house. The fire
and ambulance units stationed here usually respond to the needs of the
citizens of the City of Sunset Hills located of the Mehlville Fire
Protection District. Generally speaking , this engine house is laid out
similar to that of #2 house only reversed as it relates to bunk rooms of
which there are three and the kitchen, dinning and recreation rooms on the
opposite side of the building. There is also a reserve pumper stationed at
#3. This is the third busiest house in the Mehlville Fire Protection
District and serves an area from I-44 / City of Crestwood on North , Grants
Farm / Baptist Church Road on the East to Kennerly Road on the South and I
270 on the West. This station is approximately 5700 square feet.
