Station House #2 House was built in 1957 as part of a $300,000 bond issue passed by the voters of the Mehlville Fire Protection District in order to construct three fire stations and purchase new trucks and equipment. Since the original opening of this house there has been to major additions and remodeling efforts put forth. These efforts were made to both accommodate the fire and ambulance crews stationed there and also to help serve a growing community.s Fire and EMS needs. This engine house is home to a 75 aerial ladder with rescue capability manned with firefighters and an ALS ambulance 1727 staffed with two Paramedics. This stations site was chosen in order to respond to emergency calls at the Southeastern part of the Mehlville Fire Protection District and generally serves the community of Oakville This station is the second busiest in district and serves an area from Telegraph and Christopher on the Southern End. The Mississippi River on the East, basically I-255 on the North and Ringer Road / Burlington Northern railroad Tracks to the West. Station two is approximately 3500 square feet.
