How to Join MFPD
Individuals interested in joining MFPD as a Firefighter/Paramedic may contact the hiring hotline at 314.894.0420, extension *1735 for up-to-date information.
Below you will find the qualifications required at the 2007 process. These qualifications are subject to change at each hiring process.
Applicants must be EMT-P Certified by the State of Missouri. Applicants must also possess St. Louis County Basic Firefighter Training Certification through the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission or be certified Firefighter I & II through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety. Preference will be given to those applicants with Fire/Medic experience and applicants who possess the above certification through the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission. Applicants not possessing St. Louis County Basic Firefighter Training Certification must be willing to successfully complete the Academy.
